When the OEM battery in my 1997 Nissan Quest died on my wife I did not want to go with the same brand anymore. Having watched many of those automobile shows that advertised Optima batteries I decided to try this brand. I think most first time buyers of Optima batteries will suffer price shock because for me I had never purchased a car battery over a hundred dollars. However when you check out the Optima batteries they are completely in a class by itself! Their “spiralcell” design is what gives the Optima batteries the amperage power that other ordinary batteries lack. I think I purchased a defective battery because my Optima battery did not last a year, but when I took it back to my local auto parts store they gave us a discount on the replacement battery. I will continue to buy Optima batteries just because I really liked the way it was built.

My stock AC Delco battery was dying in my 02 Camaro Z28 so I decided to pick up one of these babies since I’ve heard good things about them. Amazon had the cheapest price anywhere. I decided on the red top for my main battery because I wanted strong cranking power. I have a Stinger Powercell in the back of my car powering my sound system and it holds up fine. Had it installed for about a month. Cranks up instantly every time, even in colder weather. I’m glad it’s a dry cell battery, the terminal on my old battery was so corroded that the outer ring of the terminal on the battery came out with the screw. I had to get a whole new screw. So far no problems, if it continues to perform like it does now I will be buying another one when it dies and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new battery.

I have used these batteries before and they last really well. Not affected by Arizona heat like standard wet batteries.

I put one in my car over a year ago and it definitely turns over faster, especially on real cold mornings. -20f, no problem
